A team of national and international experts undertook extensive research in Northern Uganda to identify opportunities for the ‘Transforming the Economy through Climate Smart Agriculture – Northern Uganda’ (NU-TEC) programme to engage and accommodate the economic development needs of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The research study aimed to generate data and analysis that would support the development of evidence based interventions to incorporate PWDs as market actors, offering value and being able to reap economic returns.

The research included an in-depth situation analysis, which explored the opportunities that exist for PWDs within selected markets; potential synergies that can be leveraged by NU-TEC; and potential strategies and approaches that can accommodate the specific economic development needs of different impairment groups, including women and girls with disabilities.
