UN Global Compact Communications on Progress Sustainability Report
Project Title: Communications on Progress Report Location: Myanmar Client: Private sector client Date: March 2016 – May 2016
Montrose produced a full active Communications on Progress (COP) Sustainability Report. The COP is facilitated by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), which invites companies around the world to voluntarily align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
The current political transition and economic growth underway in Myanmar makes an opportune time for national private companies to share information regarding the integration of corporate sustainability into their operations. With the opening of the economy for greater foreign direct investment (FDI), Myanmar companies are eager to showcase their abilities to compete in an international market. In order to do this, they need to report on the sustainability of their operations in line with international standards and best practice.
Montrose produced a full active annual Communications on Progress report on the sustainability of our client’s activities. Montrose collated information provided from our client’s corporate sustainability teams and provided technical insight into international standards of corporate business on the topics of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. By partaking in the UNGC Myanmar, our client has the ability to engage with their stakeholders in a tangible way. The COP report serves as an internal and external information sharing tool that aims to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and investors.
