Montrose’s work in Asia-Pacific began in 2010 with a review of a private sector client’s malaria control programme in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Our engagement in the region quickly expanded into work across the region for multiple clients including ICMM, AusAID and Mining Health Initiative in Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Montrose’s engagement in the region was further solidified by undertaking a programme evaluation for DFID in Myanmar beginning in 2012.
Montrose set up a full time presence in Asia-Pacific in 2014, opening a regional office in Yangon, Myanmar. Montrose has a Myanmar registered branch office, is a founding member of the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar, and is a service company member of the Papua New Guinea Chamber of Mines and Petroleum. The Programme Director for Asia-Pacific is based in Yangon, traveling widely in the region, and is supported by several long term staff also based in the regional office in Yangon.
Through our increased presence and active engagement in Myanmar and the Asia-Pacific region, Montrose is able to offer solutions to current and potential clients which integrate a deep understanding of local context with our technical expertise and focus on high performance, value for money and risk management.
